The installation has led to: increased collaboration between the Smart Towns network, me as the Smart Towns Champion, and Welshpool Town Council; greater data gathering; provable, regular usage of the wifi network; and better tourist data for the area.
How did your research contribute?
As a part of my ongoing work as the Smart Towns Champion for Welshpool and my work for USW as a Lecturer in Digital Innovation, I organised the funding and installation of free town-wide Wifi for Welshpool to alleviate data poverty.
Who is affected?
The people of Welshpool and north Powys, as well as anyone who visits Welshpool.
