Description of impact
Cross faculty offering of professional practice courses focusing on the role of dance/movement in leadership, employability and business. Workshops are based on practice-led research for the book Body Questions in Practice: Decision Making through the Arts and have been piloted within Business departments and as a standalone training tool for students across the university. How did your research contribute?
In 2023, I developed standalone courses as a Professional Practice portfolio, which included courses titled: Performing Arts in Public Speaking, Decision Making through Movement, Creative Unique Value Proposition (USP). Movement Style and Cultural Difference, and Movement and Leadership, This portfolio has been widely successful and is the first initiative in Professional Practice offerings across the university. The offerings have repeat invitations for training the students for the Negotiation Challenge this year again and supporting the Business Clinic for two consecutive years (and for four student cohorts) with glowing student testimonials, sustaining a contribution to student experience, demonstrating high adaptability to diverse student needs and fostering innovation within the university.Who is affected?
Offered to students from MBA Global, BA Cybersecurity, BA Popular Music, MA Songwriting and MSc Sound Engineering, Media & Journalism, MA/BA Theatre & Drama, BA Creative Therapeutic Arts, BA Community Nursing, BA Creative Writing, BA Biological Sciences, BA Sport and for the Negotiation Challenge between USW and University of Trento.
