I was invited to provide a music therapy perspective on a recent article in BMJ about music listening during surgery. The focus of the discussion came to be about defining what music therapy involves and the diverse range of possible applications. I discussed my own research in Autism and challenging a medical model focus in Music Therapy research and practice.
