Minister launches new research infrastructure for health and social care in Wales

    Today sees the launch of the Clinical Research Collaboration Cymru – a new research and development infrastructure for health and social care in Wales. The Minister for Health and Social Services, Dr Brian Gibbons AM, will officially launch the initiative at a reception at the Museum and Galleries of Wales, Cardiff, this evening at 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

    CRC Cymru is part of the strategic work programme of the Wales Office of Research and Development (WORD), which is supporting the initiative with funding in the region of £4.5million a year for the next 3-5 years. It includes 9 research networks, 6 specialist research support services, 2 trials units and a Co-ordinating Centre.
