Working Together for Dads' Wellbeing in Wales

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventOrganising an event

    Description

The key aim of the event is to actively engage a range of stakeholders in discussions around how to best support dads’ wellbeing, to make a positive impact on communities and help create more resilient families where mothers feel supported by their partners and children flourish both emotionally and developmentally. This was done in attempts to bridge the gap between research and practice when supporting dads’ wellbeing, by translating research recommendations into tangible, actionable outcomes that can drive meaningful change.

The primary objectives of this event were:

To prioritise practical ways key workers across health and mental health, early years and education, national bodies, third sector organisations, justice and family law, local authorities, policy and research as well as dads from diverse backgrounds with lived experience, to work more closely together.

To establish specific research and practice aims and potential projects aligned with identified priorities.

To strengthen collaborative links between key workers across health and mental health, early years and education, national bodies, third sector organisations, justice and family law, local authorities, policy and research and dads from diverse backgrounds with lived experience.

To create pathways for research to inform curriculum development through (commissioned) dissertations and live briefs.
