    Description

The Second Annual South Wales Business School Research Conference was developed by Dr Nihar Amoncar (then Research coordinator for Enterprise) along with the Professoriate within the business school and other research coordinators within the business school.

In 2017, as a then Post Graduate Academic Assistant within the business school writing a PhD, Dr Amoncar after close consultation with research staff and students identified there was no KPI for measurement of research output within the business school nor there was a platform for research active staff and students to share their research with colleagues.

The first conference turned to be a major success with over 21 staff and students presenting at the event hosted by Dr Amoncar. Prizes and certificates were given to winners of best track presentations and best overall paper.

The success of the first and second conference meant the conference was turned into an annual event as KPI to measure research output within the business school and encourage early career researchers.

Mr Mike Peckham (Head of the Virgin Money Trust Foundation) was invited as the keynote speaker.
