Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Panel Host: Elizabeth de Roza, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts; Panellists: Ben Spatz,
University of Huddersfield, Christina Papagiannouli, University of South Wales, Melina Scialom, The
Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

The panel draws together practitioners and researchers from performing arts disciplines with interests in sharing their methodology on the spontaneous body as a site of creativity, knowledge, and an embodied way of knowing and learning. The panel focused on the visceral-intellectual nature of practice-as-research and embodied research to approach knowledge acquisition and generation while simultaneously questioning and exploring the body as a palimpsest inscribed upon by the ever-changing culture and society. We aim to ask and answer new questions and develop innovative research methods and pedagogies by bringing this range of methodologies into a dialogue through the panel discussion.
