I organised an event at which Dan May & Jackson Rolls-Gray from Painting Practice discussed and demonstrating Painting Practice’s still in development virtual production environment, which were created over the last 6 months using off the shelf technology to prove the concept. The talk explored the cross-over of games and VR technology with film and TV production, with a firm look to the future. Painting Practice is and award-winning design studio working access film, television, and advertising. Providing services including motion graphics, previs, animation, VFX, production design, concept art, digital matte painting and prop design. Projects range from animation work like Nike’s “The Last Game” to a vast design overview of the hit show Black Mirror, with other notable work on Beauty and the Beast, James Bond – Quantum of Solace, Maleficent, Gravity, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Mr Selfridge to name a few. The event was attended by approximately 80 people.
