USW has launched a new mentoring network designed to support women from minority ethnic communities to overcome microaggressions, stereotyping, and systemic barriers to success. Empowering Futures, led by Dr Shehla Khan, Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and a member of the Business Research and Innovation Group (RIG). Funded by the Medr Civic Activity Fund, Empowering Futures is a collaboration with the Welsh Government’s Wales Anti-Racist Action Plan team, Cardiff and Vale College, Cardiff University, EMWWAA (Ethnic Minority Welsh Women Achievement Association), EYST (Ethnic Youth Support Team) and Swansea University.
