Future Proofing” Social Prescribing in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan – towards a common language

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

A free online event that brought together practitioners and experts to offer insights into the future of social prescribing as we move closer to the adoption of a National Framework in Wales. The event provided the opportunity to hear directly about the work of the Ministerial Group, and allow connections to be made with the work that has been undertaken by colleagues from the Wales School for Social Prescribing Research (WSSPR) based at the University of South Wales in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan on the creation of a self-assessment ‘Development Matrix’. It also allowed attendees to view the new online National Glossary of Terms for social prescribing and discuss how it can be used in practice.

"Featuring Dr Simon Newstead and Professor Carolyn Wallace of WSSPR, the event will also offer an opportunity to consider how best to build up networks of people who have a stake in delivering social prescribing services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The event is open to anyone who has an interest in social prescribing, whether service managers, practitioners, commissioners or other stakeholders."
