Description

The Creative Industries Council (CIC) and Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (Creative PEC) are co-hosting a roundtable to gather expert insight to share with the Creative Industries Taskforce as it develops a the Creative Industries Sector Plan. Its intention is to provide recommendations on new post-16 skills policies and interventions that will help the Creative Industries to grow, as a central part of the Government’s Plan for Change and Growth Mission.

This briefing has been developed to provide background reading before the event and to stimulate discussion drawing on the research of Creative PEC.

The Roundtable was structured to consider some high-level questions:
▪ What are the skills challenges facing the creative industries? and
▪ What are the policy opportunities created by the current post-16 skills reform programme, being progressed by the UK Government, to address these challenges?
