Mediatized Dramaturgy by Seda Ilter explores the ways in which playtexts have evolved in relation to the sociocultural and cognitive conditions of a mediatized age, and how they, in form and content, respond to this environment and open up new critical possibilities in text and performance. At this event acclaimed scholars and its author will discuss the book. The speakers include Barbara Fuchs, Christina Papagiannouli, Vicky Angelaki, Duska Radosavljevic, and Sarah Grochala.

Seda Ilter is a lecturer in Theatre and Performance Studies at Birkbeck College, University of London. She is Programme Director of MA Dramaturgy, and teaches on BA Theatre & Drama, BA Theatre Studies & English, MA Text and Performance, and MA Dramaturgy. Her research interests include theoretical and aesthetic implications of technology and media culture in theatre, dramaturgy and new writing. Seda is also interested in translating and directing, and directed Tim Crouch’s The Author in Istanbul (2015).
