Rhondda Accent
A description of the Rhondda English Accent – its consonants, vowels and prosody [stress, rhythm & intonation], with sound clips throughout and a full archive of sound recordings & transcriptions.

Overview
This is study of working-class male pronunciation in a South Wales “Valleys” accent of English. It consists of a concise version of my 1999 doctoral thesis “A study of the Segmental and Supra-segmental Phonology of Rhondda Valleys English”, with sound clips added throughout so that readers can hear the consonants, vowels and prosody [stress, rhythm & intonation]. Symbols and technical terms used are explained for the non-specialist reader in a glossary and there is a full archive of sound recordings and transcriptions.
