The (Research in Entrepreneurship and Small Business (RENT) 2021 conference paper titled Supporting High-Growth Firms by Rachael Rees-Jones, Dylan Jones-Evans, and Hefin Rowlands explores the growth processes of high-growth firms (HGFs) and the role of public accelerators in supporting them. Drawing on qualitative data from 23 high-growth firms participating in a live public accelerator in Wales, the study identifies eight dominant growth factors and nine action-based processes contributing to sustained high growth.

The paper highlights how business support indirectly influences growth by impacting founders' attitudes and behaviour rather than directly providing resources. It offers a conceptual model that explains how firms strategically align themselves with market conditions to maintain high growth. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers and support practitioners, suggesting that a holistic view of high-growth processes is necessary for effective support interventions.
