In early 2022, third year BSc Computer Security students collaborated to create and deliver problem and challenge-based learning workshops for first-year students and during an applicant day (these are also available online for participants to complete remotely at their own pace). Workshop topics include the recently released OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) 2021 Top Ten vulnerabilities. This method of learning provided the participants a chance to enhance their knowledge of global cyber security related challenges, such as OWASP 2021 vulnerabilities and other security issues, in an interactive environment and provided the students with an opportunity to have a positive impact on the development of the curriculum. After completing the workshops, the participants were prompted to provide feedback. The results from the feedback show how both our students and technology can be involved with creating engaging transformational workshops for the learning and teaching of cyber security.
