Long-form storytelling (performances of an hour or more consisting of single long tales or suites of tales in artfully woven combinations) are often justly considered a summit of the traditional or contemporary storyteller's art. This special issue of Storytelling, Self, Society considers this virtuoso mode of storytelling through the perspectives of several notable practitioners from Britain and the United States. The issue features a contextualising introduction by the editor, reflective articles from the tellers themselves along with transcriptions of their works.
