To celebrate ten years of the project{\textquoteright}s success, a formal evaluation was developed. Following ethical approval, a mixed-methods online questionnaire captured the impact of volunteering with Melody Music Birmingham (MMB) on student volunteers from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The results were overwhelmingly positive, demonstrating that this had been a powerful aspect of the students{\textquoteright} learning and influenced their career choices, perceptions and attitudes.",

Rosie Rushton – Rosie is a music facilitator and PhD student at the University of Birmingham. Her research interests include music education, disability and inclusivity; particularly with people with profound and complex needs. Shortlisted for the National Association of Special Educational Needs (NASEN) Inspirational Teacher of the Year Award (2018), Rosie challenges disabling barriers to music-making and works to develop inclusive practices. She is a trustee of Melody, and is supported by the ESRC for her PhD studies. ",
