N2 - Internet of things (IoT) consists of millions of existing devices that are connected to the Internet, which collects and distributes data. IoT refers to devices that are not personal computers or smartphones but nevertheless connect to the Internet, collect, and share data. IoT also has the potential of endangering freedoms, exposing individuals’ vulnerabilities to untrusted third parties, and loss of privacy. IoT refers to the change in the human and computer environment by which computers are less dependent on humans to input information; machines with sensors collect data without the need of human operators. At its core, IoT is an extension of the RFID chip: any item that can communicate information with a wireless network is part of IoT. Forecasters estimate that the IoT will more than double and comprise more than 25 billion items connected to the Internet. IoT is expected to dominate industrial sectors in hardware, software, infrastructure, security, and connectivity.
