Crynodeb

This paper recounts a story of functional and psychological barriers to participating in the sharing economy. The sharing economy is a continually expanding area of typically decentralised (re)distribution of products and services. It is connected to social media and social commerce, and even forms an aspect of the circular economy. The specific sharing economy area explored in this paper is the redistribution of products. The data considers the actual and perceived barriers faced by a Millennial woman looking to engage in the redistribution of goods following a decision to de-clutter and clean the family home. Throughout three examples, the paper uses a framework by Hazée et al. (2017) to extend research in the area.
