The Welsh Government commissioned a partnership of academics across four universities in Wales and expert advisers to deliver the evaluation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (hereafter referred to as ‘the Act’). Led by Professor Mark Llewellyn, Director of the Welsh Institute for Health and Social
Care (WIHSC) at the University of South Wales alongside Professor Fiona Verity, Professor of Social Work and Social Care, Swansea University, the partnership also includes colleagues from Bangor University and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
This report is solely concerned with reporting service user and carer perspectives on the Act, and in particular their expectations and experiences of their care and support under the auspices of the Act since April 2016.
