Crynodeb

This chapter provides an analysis of digital inclusion within minority community contexts with a specifi c focus on the take-up of digital technologies 1 within communities of disabled people. This was achieved by drawing on an extensive review of the literature to present a critical review of the current state of knowledge regarding digital divides and community connectivity within what can be broadly termed communities of people with disabilities. This chapter also provides an overview of the outcomes of the fi rst two phases of the project, which aimed to summarise key concepts and arguments in theory-and research-related literature regarding digital divides and information and communication technology (ICT) use/nonuse, on the one hand, and community connectivity and its various and continuously expanding forms in minority communities, on the other.
