Crynodeb

A compact uni-planar printed tunable bandpass filter (BPF) is studied and analysed. The present filter consists of coupled line resonators printed over an RT/ duroid 6006/6010LM substrate, with a permittivity of 10.2 and thickness of 1.27mm. To reconfigure the desired pass band frequency, a varactor diode is introduced at the proper position on the middle strip resonator. By varying the bias voltage of the varactor from 0.16V up to 14.62V, the proposed filter is able to tune its pass band frequency from GSM1800MHz to LTE2600MHz. The fabricated tunable BPF exhibits a wide tuning range with a 36.36% bandwidth, in-band insertion loss of around 2.78 dB and return loss better than 15 dB. The present BPF filter has come up with a simple structure and a compact volume of 16 × 37.5 ×1.27 mm3. This makes the present filter as a promising candidate for several applications in future multi-standard wireless communications.
