This paper presents a novel live failure detection and critical failure prevention mechanism for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). In particular, application of the live failure detection method for a quadcopter system is discussed. The method offers a structured approach to resolve failure related problems giving crucial early signal and notifications. The results indicated that using the live failure detection method, it is possible to prevent critical failures in any UAV's
