Crynodeb

Acute mountain sickness (AMS) describes a collection of nonspecific vegetative symptoms that include headache, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, and insomnia experienced by non-acclimatized mountaineers within 6-12 h of arrival to altitudes above 2,500m. It is considered a primary disorder of the central nervous system since headache, indistinguishable from that encountered during migraine without aura, is the most common feature.
