A promising internal issued slot antenna is one of the most favored antenna structures for low cost and compact design for wireless communication systems. In this work, we offer a design of compact small-size microstrip antennas with defected ground structure (DGS) appropriate for Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) in the 1.8 GHz band operations. The suggested antenna is evaluated using High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software with an average size of 30 × 13× 0.8 mm3. The antenna characteristics such as the return loss, gain, VSWR, radiation pattern, and radiation efficiency are talked over. The proposed antenna operates at1.8 GHz with a directivity of3.80 dB, a gain of about 4dB, and an efficiency of 63%.
