Barnard’s project investigating cryptocurrency and the mining of Bitcoin included still and moving images created in Tokyo and Iceland, highlighting the natural resources engaged in the creation of, as well as the precarity and illusory appeal of this high-risk speculative asset. Here the unexpectedly three dimensional and multi-sensory physical curation added an unforgettable dimension to this important photographic project.
